ANGUS – Andrew Barclay look-alike

I have been working on a conversion of an old Triang TT Jinty body, into a passable representation of the locos built by Andrew Barclay for the Campbeltown and Machrihanish Railway.

The loco uses the Bachmann N scale 0-6-0 switcher chassis, with tyres removed from the centre wheels. The pony truck was made from brass with whitemetal axleboxes. Having just fitted the couplings, here are some photographs:

The loco negotiates 12″ radius curves easily. I have also had it around reverse curves of 9″ radius, however the rear coupling rides under the notch in the rear bufferbeam. I do not intend using it down to curves as sharp as this!
